

Gary
Reed is the author of many titles with the most notable being Saint Germaine,
Renfield, Raven Chronicles, and Baker Street.
He has written over 150 comics and books, mostly based on themes dealing
history and literature. In addition
to the comics market, he has written graphic novels for Penguin for young adult
readers and a prose young adult novel for Actionopolis. He has also written film
scripts, short stories, role playing games, and a video game storyline. Before turning to writing as a freelance career, he owned and
operated a chain of bookstores in the Detroit area and was publisher of Caliber
Press, a specialty house of comics, books, games, and other related material.
In addition to his writing, Gary also currently teaches biology courses
at various community colleges. He
lives in a suburb of Detroit with his wife and they have four daughters.
Started
up and ran the King Kon comic conventions and restored a major comic book
convention presence in the Detroit area which was later continued by Motor City
Conventions.

of Caliber Press, a specialty publisher of comics, games, graphic novels.
During the 1990’s, Caliber published about 1,400 comics and over 70
graphic novels. Many of today’s
top stars in comics developed their skills at Caliber before moving to the Big
Two including: Michael Lark, David Mack, Stuart Immomen, Ed Brubaker, Mike
Carey, Phil Hester, Joe Pruett, Brian Bendis, James O'Barr, Guy Davis, Vince
Locke, and dozens of others.
President
of Stabur Corporation, a fine arts publishing house which dealt in art prints,
high end book publishing, and licensed merchandise.
Associations at that time include Rocky Horror Picture Show
anniversaries, Penthouse, Disney, Museum of Cartoon Art, and many others.
Executive
Vice President of McFarlane Toys for the first three years that launched the top
selling line of McFarlane Toys built around the popular character of Spawn.
Sold
various projects to interested studios for possible film and television
production including Baker Street, Deadworld, Renfield, Searchers, Disciples,
and others. Wrote film scripts and
treatments for various projects.
Wrote
over 150 comics and graphic novels including most of the Tome Press publications
which covered diverse subjects as The Russian Revolution, life of El Cid, True
Spy Stories, women of mythology, a new interpretation of Dante's Inferno, and
profiles of famous artists such as Mucha, Beardsley, Remington, and Currier
& Ives. For Caliber, popular titles included Deadworld, Saint Germaine,
Raven Chronicles, Baker Street, and many others.
Co-Publisher of Transfuzion Publishing (with Rafael Nieves) launched in February 2008.
Currently
teaches variety of biology courses including General Biology, Environmental
Science, Anatomy and Physiology, and Evolution at various community colleges.
Master of Science degree in Biology with an emphasis on Molecular Genetics.
